Speaker Bio
Dr. Houman Zarrinkoub is a Senior Product Manager at MathWorks, where he leads the development of wireless communications products. With over 24 years at MathWorks, he has also served as a development manager for several signal processing and communications tools. Prior to joining MathWorks, he worked as a research scientist at Nortel Networks, focusing on mobile and voice coding technologies. He holds multiple patents in signal processing simulations and is the author of Understanding LTE with MATLAB: From Mathematical Modeling to Simulation and Prototyping. Dr. Zarrinkoub earned his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from McGill University and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Telecommunications from the University of Quebec, Canada.
Abstract:
Satellite communications will be integral to achieving global 6G connectivity through non-terrestrial networks (NTN). This session explores key challenges such as propagation delays and Doppler effects, and covers advancements in constellation modeling, link budgeting, RF system design, and hardware implementation for satellite-enabled 6G networks.
