The Bharat 6G Alliance, in collaboration with the European Space Agency, Indian Institute of Science, Centre for Development of Telematics, and the UK-India Future Networks Initiative, successfully demonstrated satellite-enabled 5G connectivity between India and the UK. The demonstrations showcased telemedicine applications and Smart Village services from Satnavari, Maharashtra, highlighting the potential of integrated terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks to support advanced digital services and improve connectivity in rural and remote areas.

Rajesh Kumar Pathak, Director General of Bharat 6G Alliance, participated as a speaker at the 12th Asia-Pacific Spectrum Management Conference held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 11–12 March 2026. He joined Session 7 titled “Shaping the 6G Future – How can APAC lead in both Driving Innovation and Ensuring Inclusivity?”, where global experts discussed the evolving vision for 6G, spectrum strategies, and the role of the Asia-Pacific region in enabling inclusive digital connectivity. During the session, he shared perspectives from the Bharat 6G Alliance on emerging technologies, spectrum policy considerations, and collaborative pathways for advancing the 6G ecosystem.

At the invitation of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, President of the Republic of Finland, H.E. Dr. Alexander Stubb, is on a State Visit to India from 4-7 March 2026. President Stubb, who is on his first visit to India in his present capacity, is visiting New Delhi and Mumbai and is accompanied by Ms. Sari Multala, Minister of Climate and the Environment of Finland, Mr. Matias Marttinen, Minister of Employment of Finland, and a high-level delegation comprising of officials and business leaders. Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the 11th edition of the Raisina Dialogue on 5 March 2026 in New Delhi with President Stubb as the Chief Guest delivering the Inaugural Keynote Address. President Stubb’s visit follows the visit of H.E. Mr. Petteri Orpo, Prime Minister of the Republic of Finland for the AI Impact Summit in February 2026.

Dr. Kumar Sivarajan, CTO and Co-founder of Tejas Networks and Vice Chairman of the Bharat 6G Alliance, will be participating in Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona. His presence highlights India’s growing leadership in next-generation telecommunications and the strong industry commitment toward shaping the global 6G roadmap. With extensive expertise in wireless systems, optical networks, and indigenous technology development, Dr. Sivarajan will contribute to discussions on 6G innovation, intelligent networks, and international collaboration at one of the world’s leading telecom events.

As part of India Al lmpact Summit2026, this session explored how the convergence of artificial intelligence and next-generation 6G connectivity can redefine India's digital infrastructure. Anchored in the priorities of the IndiaAl Mission and Viksit Bharat 2047, the discussion organized by Nasscom Al in partnership with Bharat 6G Alliance examined Al as the organizing intelligence layer and 6G as a distributed, ultra-reliable compute and connectivity fabric enabling real-time, autonomous, and resilient systems at national scale.

Union Minister of Communications Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia underscored that India’s spectrum policy will play a pivotal role in shaping the country’s 6G roadmap. He highlighted that optimal utilisation of existing 5G bands, exploration of mid-band spectrum in the 7–15 GHz range, and strengthened domestic R&D will be key to building future 6G networks. The Minister called for a holistic view of the entire value chain—from technology development to device manufacturing—and emphasised the need to balance large-scale deployment with affordability. He also stressed aligning India’s spectrum strategy with global trends to position the nation as a leader in 6G innovation.

Prof. R. David Koilpillai, Chairman of the Bharat 6G Alliance and Professor at IIT Madras, delivered a keynote on “Roadmap to 6G: An India Perspective on 6G” at the IEEE Future Networks World Forum on 11 November 2025 in Bengaluru. He highlighted India’s phased 6G development strategy, the Bharat 6G Alliance’s role in R&D and global standardization, and India’s vision to lead in affordable, sustainable, and inclusive 6G technologies.

For the first time, India is playing a seminal role in setting global telecom standards, said Union Minister for Communications and DoNER Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Minister of State for Communications, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, emphasized India’s commitment to achieving technological sovereignty in the 6G era through indigenous innovation and strategic policymaking. He highlighted key initiatives such as the Telecom Technology Development Fund and collaborative efforts involving C-DOT, IIT Delhi, and startups to build core 6G technologies, strengthen testing capabilities, and align spectrum policy with global standards, positioning India as a frontrunner in next-generation communication systems.

This initiative is part of the country's ongoing efforts to strengthen its position in the international telecommunications sector under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. India aims to become a key contributor to the development and governance of next-generation wireless technologies, reflecting the government's strategic push to ensure the nation is actively involved in setting international standards and frameworks for 6G, thereby solidifying its status as a technological innovator on the global stage.
